Day Camp Week 5: Let’s Play!

Posted by: knoxcamp on: August 22, 2011

Who would have thought that Family Games Night would be full of adventure when the important game pieces to the classic board-games were stolen by a jealous Candyland character, the Duke of Swirl! The ladders and space 100 from Snakes and Ladders; all the properties and Mr Monopoly himself from Monopoly; and the letters “S” from Chess, were all stolen, so that families on Family Games Night could only play Candyland FOREVER, even though the recommended age for play is 3 years or older. Although the campers were successful in completing some tasks to get back the game pieces, they were still missing some of the vital pieces. So in order to save Family Games Night, the Family Games Knight came to the rescue by dueling the Duke of Swirl and retrieving back the stolen pieces. Now everyone  can have their fun Family Games Nights again!

Knox Camps followed the dilemmas of Normal Norman, as Truthful Tammy and Lying Larry persuaded him to follow their advice.  Lying Larry gave terrible advice however, Truthful Tammy offered great advice to Normal Norman by providing examples of what Jesus did: Jesus saves a women from being killed; Jesus talks to Martha, and what kind of people Jesus likes to bless. Everyday Normal Norman decided to do what Truthful Tammy told him, and he was able to resolve his conflicts. Forgiveness was the theme of the memory verse, as they learned Colossians 3: 13-14 to the tune of “It’s a Small World.”

This week, Knox Camps went to the beach! The sun was shining, and the waves were crashing. Campers were super eager to jump into the water and tackle the coming waves.

Overall, it was a short but fun time at Knox Camps.
