What happens when you mix Knox Camps + Week 6 + loads of fun? You get WACKY SCIENCE! But how much fun did Knox Camps have? According to Dr What? ‘s scientific invention for the Wacky Science Funporium, his Fun-o-meter read the fun levels to be exponentially high. However, another mad scientist was testing his invention out also: Dr Oh-No-You-Didn’t and his Misery-o-meter. Dr Oh-No-You-Didn’t wanted to sabotage all the fun games and activities to give power to his Misery-o-meter.
In an unexpected plot twist of a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde story, Dr What? was actually the same person as Dr Oh-No-You-Didn’t, due to a chemical miscalculation in his new potion he had invented. The campers had to find the antidote ingredients before Dr What? was permanently Dr Oh-No-You-Didn’t. Though a struggle at first, the campers successfully retrieved the ingredients and turned him back to Dr What? As a reward, the Wacky Science Funporium was able to happen, where there was a dunk tank, face paint, bingo, water balloon toss, and lots and lots of candy!
In the Bible Study skits, Ms Mary Sunshine and her classroom of 4 were taught in a style similar to the Magic School Bus but with a twist of going on field trips to the past (however, leaving Ted behind almost every time). Ms Mary Sunshine, April Showers, May Flowers, and UV Index 5 learned about Jesus’s sermons on the mount about being the salt and light of the earth; loving your enemies; the parable of the seed planted in good soil; and the sending out of the disciples with 2 Corinthians 4:6 tying in perfectly with the message of God creating amazing things for us including Jesus.
Wacky Science + day trip = Ontario Science Centre. Campers got to learn some fascinating things about science through interactive games and displays.
We are blessed to have had a great summer this year with lots of fun memories. New friendships were made as well as the reconnecting of old ones. Knox Camps would like to thank every single person who supported us whether through prayers, finances, acts of service, or other helpful means. We hope everyone has a great rest of the summer and a wonderful school year, and we hope to see everyone at Overnight Camp (August 28th to September 3rd) or at next summer’s day camp. See you all later!!
